That's a lot of money for me, but they offer free basic course downloads for all of the nearby courses, and charge only $10 for the pro downloads (less if I buy in bulk), so the lower continuing expense helps offset the high initial cost.

I have an old golf GPS unit that piggy-backs on a Palm Pilot (remember those?). It's bulky and I can't get downloaded courses for it anymore, but it works well and is easy to program the points of interest myself, which comes in handy at some of the little 9-hole courses that my sister and I play tournaments at each year (and none of which is currently available from UPro). Still, the UPro looks like a nice unit and more and more tournaments are permitting them every year, so I will certainly keep it in mind.

Thanks, Sam!

I love this club. I also have two Bobby Jones clubs which i cannot hit with any consistancy. I do notice that the Bobby Jones clubs were higher rated among low Handicappers as opposed to high handicappers(I am a 20). I just find it hard to believe the Cobra was only rated # 12. Its a great club.

I'm a 9 and I have a Cobra Baffler ... I just can't wrap my brain around the fact that there could be 11 other models (or more, since each mfr was only allowed one entry in each category) that are better than the Baffler ... it is definitely my go-to club on tight holes ... interesting ...

I'm right there with you. I bought my Bertha irons 3-4 years ago and they were used then, so I think they might even be the version previous to yours (which may make them '96?). Mine have steel shafts. I picked them up for $325 for 11 clubs (2-9, AW, PW, SW) which I thought was a spectacular deal. They are immensely forgiving, losing only a few yards even when I hit them high on the club face or on the toe. Decent spin rates off the faces, although I have dropped the SW in favor of a milled-face 56° wedge. I went to a free club-fitting clinic two years ago and was told that I should have my irons 2° upgright so I took them to a local guy and had them bent (which was a challenge, given the extremely short hosel of the Berthas) and that has helped with my directional control. I'm so happy with them that Callaway definitely gets first shot when I go to replace them (I'm currently lusting after the X-Forged irons) ...
