Now, Steven, here is where my wife and I strongly disagree with you!---REGARDING--Michele Wie!

Can't you see, that this young girl, will someday, chalange TW in a head-to-head tournament, in a similar manner that TW and Sergio did, a few months ago? Michele is gaining more and more confidence and getting more and more used to the spot light, crowds, TV cameras, fans screaming and following her, everywhere she goes, in the same manner that TW did, as he came on the scene! If you remember, Steven, TW did not make the cut, on the first one or two professional tournaments, he played in, with a Sponsors Exemption, and he was older than Michele, at the time? Let's give her a little slack, and appreciate the Sponsors that give her an exemption to play 'with the big boys', because, in our opinion, that is where she belongs, because she can hit the ball further than a lot of the PGA men can and once she gets her short game and putting under control, you will see, just how good she is!

Quoting an old expression, 'GO GIRL!"

Yes, Steven, I agree with you, 100%, regarding Annika!

All of golf, will miss her beautiful face and GREAT SWING and OVERALL WONDERFUL GOLF! My wife and I, always tried to watch the LPGA, when she was playing, even if we had to switch back and fourth, if her tournament happened to compete with waht was on another channel, at the same time. Annika, like many other women and men golfers, before her, has helped pro-golf stay a very popular form of TV entertainment.

Many women golfers, in the LPGA benefit, from the way Annika handled herself, on and off the golf course.

THANK YOU, ANNIKA, AND CLARA AND I HOPE, YOU ENJOY YOUR, WELL EARNED RETIREMENT!

I believe, we will see a lot more of Jeffrey Edelman, in the future, playing golf, on a weekend, in some PGA sponsored tournament! This young man, clearly has his priorities straight in his mind, but his love of golf, will bring him back to practicing and playing better and better, once his college career is behind him. GOOD LUCK TO YOU, JEFFREY! Our country, needs more young people, such as you.

Thanks, Steven, for giving us the info., on the upcoming changes, in the PGA , as to the tour players hitting out of the rough. Yes, the changes will make a difference, but as the saying goes, "the cream will come up to the surface." What I mean is, 'the tour player, playing the best golf, over four days, will still win, no matter what rules the PGA or a particular tournament passes. In my opinion, TW would win a golf tournament, if he, and all others, had to use nothing but, say 'a five iorn', on every shot, including putting. (I read, somewhere, that Lee Treveno did just that, as a way to earn money and be able to play the 'exclusive golf courses', around the border towns of Texas. I believe, he won most of the time, using that five iron, too, because, 'he was the best golfer in that foursome!".

Thanks, also, for the info. on TW, that I had not heard about. I think, TW will come back, when he is ready, and be a better golfer, than he was before, if that is possible.

Its nice to see there are still young people out there who have some standards. I love the game of golf and would love to have been able to play it for a living but at what expense does this happen. God Bless you young man for thinking of your family and your education first. May you have everything you want out of life.

find out, "the truth", ON HOW HIS KNEE IS HEALING, AND IF, HE MIGHT RETURN TO THE PGA TOUR, BEFORE 2008 ENDS!

IN MY AGE BRACKET(69 THIS MONTH), I AM ALWAYS GLAD TO SEE ANY GOLFER, OVER 40 PLAY GOOD, AGAINST 'THOSE YOUNGSTERS'. LOL!

SPEAKING OF 'OLDER PGA PLAYERS', CLARA AND I ARE SURPRISED, MARK O'MEARA IS NOT WINNING SOME, ON THE 'CHAMPION'S TOUR'! WE MIGHT HAVE MISSED IT, IF HE HAS, SINCE WE WOULD HAVE, PROBABLY, BEEN WATCHING HIS GOOD FRIEND, TW GIVE ANOTHER LESSON, TO OTHER PGA PLAYERS.

KENNY PERRY IS A BETTER GOLFER, THAN HE HAS BEEN PLAYING, LATELY, AND I FEEL, HE WILL WIN SOME MORE SUNDAY'S, IN THE FUTURE. I AGREE WITH YOU, STEVEN, THAT THEY SHOULD HAVE GIVEN HIS SPOT, TO ANOTHER DESERVING PGA PLAYER. POWERS-IN-CHARGE, DO NOT ALWAYS HAVE 'COMMON SENSE', NOR 'FAIR=PLAY' IN MIND, WHEN MAKING DECISIONS, I HAVE NOTICED, IN ALL FORMS OF SPORTS, BUSINESS, ETC., ETC.

jesse and al would be out of work if people didnt say stupid things !! have they ever had a real job ? personally i think they do more to keep racism alive than anyone.

as far as johnny miller, i think with his 20 some tour wins, he KNOWS what these guys are thinking and what shot they re gonna hit. how many tour wins do you have and years on the tour??

How about writers misspelling words, especially names of celebrities, in their articles? Having said that, it is Kelly TILGHAM, not Tillman.

Steven, never mind, what others say, or write, critizing you description of TW, which I agree with you, on every point, regarding the fantastic performance he gave the world, during the U.S. Open. I, for one, am very glad, that I have lived during this great and dedicated athelete, playing the best that anyone before him has ever played, in his chosen field! Yes, his wonderful and loving father did teach him, starting at a very early age, but what makes TW such a great golfer, is his inner drive and determination to WIN, at anything he is involved in! I, for one, whould hate to play against him, even in a game of monopoly, for I would be sure, he would win--some way!

STEVE, YOU DID IT AGAIN! THAT WAS A VERY INTERESTING ARTICLE AND I ENJOYED READING IT, SINCE IT REFLECTED MY FEELINGS ABOUT THE

U.S. OPEN, (PARDON MY PUN) "TO A TEE".

MY ONLY CONCERN IS, TIGER PLAYING FIVE DAYS STRAIGHT, MIGHT HAVE PUT TOO MUCH PRESSURE ON HIS LEFT KNEE!

MY WIFE AND I, THOUGHT IT WAS A TOUCHING SCENE, WITH TIGER HOLDING HIS BEAUTIFUL LITTLE GIRL AND THEN THE 'ESCORT' THEY GAVE HIM AND HIS FAMILY IN GOLF CARTS.

KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK, STEVE.

P.S. STEVE, MY ONLY CLAIM, REGARDING THE "FUN?" GAME OF GOLF IS, BACK IN 1959, WHILE PLAYING MY 10TH, EVER, ROUND OF GOLF, I MANAGED TO GET A HOLE-IN-ONE AND WAS LUCKY TO HAVE TWO FELLOW PLAYERS, TO WITNESS IT.

Steve, I found your comments, re-TW-as agreeing with my comments, last week. In my opinion, you ARE EXACTLY RIGHT, in writing that TW would never enter a tournament, that he did not feel, he could win, since I feel, that is the only reason he plays golf, or any other game, is TO WIN! As I, also, commented, last week, that 'it would be a very big blow, and a shame, if that knee problem made our great golfer, TW, have to retire from the game------------WAY TOO EARLY!

Some of the world's greatest athelets have had to retire from their chosen sport, due to either mental or phyaical illness(or some other reason)----WAY TOO EARLY, and deprived their fans, of many more years to CHEER THEM ON! Us GOLF FANS should all, that believe in preayer------REMEMBER, TW, IN PRAYERS, THEY MIGHT OFFER, TO GOD, FOR HIM TO HAVE A SPEEDY AND COMPLETE RECOVERY! Modern day golf, would not be the same, without "possibly, the best professional golfer, to ever play the game"! I use the word, "professional", because I have and will always consider, the late GREAT Bobby Jones, as the BEST over all, GOLFER TO EVER PLAY GOLF!

Steve, that was a very well written article. I can understand, in a way, how Rod P. must have felt, but all of us have our favorites(my wife and I watch any event TW enters). If TW is not in contention(which is not very often, if he plays) we pull for Phil M., Jim F., or one of the other gofers we like to see win.

In our opinion, Arnold, Jack, and Tiger are three of the golfers(and there have been many, before them) that have kept professional golf, so popular and kept advertisers willing to pay millions of $ to have the big tournaments broadcast on TV.

Keep up the good work, Steve, and as Howard Cosell always said, "tell it like it is".

I agree with most of what Stephen had to say, in his article regarding Master's Week.

If Tiger does good, on Thursday, and stays within 2-3 shots of the lead, then I believe, all the other golfers will be playing for 2nd place and below.
