Will the FedEx cup be a bust or in the PGA tour they will trust?
This is going to be a complete bust! I am certain!
Did anyone really care that Ben Curtis received 148 points for showing up at the first event? Or does anyone care that our favorite players care very little about backing the tours newest way for players to compete in more events?
I know there are alot of different kinds of feelings about this and Tim Finchem the Tour Commish really is going to take a long awaited bath on this! After all these years does he not realize that the best players in the world are and always will tell the tour where and when they will play because they fuel the game! There is no amount of money that will get these elite status players excited about playing more events to pad pocketbooks that already rival Fort Knox!
Its not about money anymore, its about making a schedule that helps an elite player peak 4 times a year, so he can define himself as player by the amount of majors he wins!
I give it this year and maybe next, but we will certainly see it fail. It might have worked calling it the American Express Cup and having Tiger Woods be the spokesman getting all the boys involved, but without the elite player support it won't last. Too bad so sad bye bye!
