This is a tough one.
I got started by a buddy that knows quite a few tour players. These guys get all kinds of equipment through the year and sometimes due to contracts they can't play the club or they just do not like the items, so my friend gets alot of the equipment. In turn, so do I!:w00t:
My first Scotty Cameron gave me the fever! Now, any Scotty item that is unique is very enticing to me.
There are a few sites out there that sell vintage Scotty Cameron putters and items, but you have to be very careful that they come with authenticity. All the putters that I have all have certifications of authenticity from Scotty Cameron.
Ebay is filled with putters and very cool stuff from Scotty Cameron, but just be sure the seller is on the up and up and that you know its real Cameron!
I suggest that you begin with an item you can afford and build from there. Get something that you like at first and be sure you decide to play them or collect them. I am very weak and love to show off the good stuff, so I have ruined the worth of a few. If you can be sure you can keep the plastic on the very valuable ones or atleast keep them under a few rounds you can build a very nice and expensive collection. Just be sure your wife says its ok before your purchase a 2002 Scotty Cameron Newport 2 TW for a few thousand. Its tough to explain why you bought a putter for that much.
Happy hunting for Scotty!
