Hey Hacker! I am a TaylorMade man! Its just the best stuff out there right now. The Pros give so much input to what is made it takes on the ultimate playability for us! TP through the bag!

(playability, is that a word? Another topic i guess):P

Wilson oversize irons and custom woods. My game is a hackers game.  I have tried the Callaway, taylor made etc and these seem to work better for my play

Re: RE: What do you play?

    Hi Everyone!

My bag is fairly consistent year to year, but putters and drivers change the most often.  Right now it looks like this:

    TaylorMade R7 425 TP driver - RA-75 stiff shaft

Sonartec 14 degree 3 wood with Purple ICE X shaft

Calloway 3w Hibrid with Grafaloy Blue x shaft

TaylorMade 320 irons 4- AW with rifle steel shafts

Titlest Vokey 56 degree mill finish wedge, bent to 55 degrees

Titlest Vokey 60 wedge mill finsih wedge

    Odessey 34" Tri-Ball putter

    Calloway HX Tour golfballs

All the clubs, except the putter, have been spined, consistently weighted to D-2 and frequency fitted for my swing.  I highly recommend that all players get their clubs spined, consistently weighted and frequency fitted.  After 41 years playing golf and changing clubs all the time because I "did not like the feel" of the old ones, I have discovered that the difference "club fitting" makes in the reduction of miss hits is unbelieveable and the inconsistency in shaft weighting and shaft frequency on club sets coming out of the most reputable manufaturers is shocking.  It costs a few bucks to have it done, but the money you save on buying "new clubs" more than makes up for it.  My irons now are getting kind of dated, but with the feel I don't want to get rid of them!

Mead -very nice set! Debby, I like Wilson! They have been around forever. Always play what is best for you!

    My tools -

    TaylorMade 460 TP  - UST V2 Proto/Tour

    TaylorMade R7 TP 3Metal - UST Proto/Tour

TaylorMade Rescue TP Driving Iron Proto - UST Proto V2

TaylorMade RAC MB TP Tour Spec 3-9 - 6.0 Project X

    TaylorMade Black Tour TP 48,52,60

    Scotty Cameron 1997 Teryllium TW

    Scotty 2004 Hula Girl Headcover

    Titleist Pro V 1x

I too agree whole hearted with Mead and the need for expert fitting for your clubs. You would not believe the improvement that can be made to your game just by having them set up for yourself.

Re: RE: What do you play?

Thanks, I really like my wilsons and seem to hit them as far as my woods, at least on days I can't do anything but slice a wood that is :)

where do I go to get these clubs "fitted" to me?  Can a good golf shop do it or should I take them to the golf pro at the club?

    Hi Debby,

You can go to any good Golf Shop with a club repair and build shop.

    Most have them!!

My bag hold a set of custom built 320I that were matched and spined 5-PW, Taylor-Made 19* Raylor Utility 4I, Adams 3I Ironwood, 56 and 60* Master Grip Tour wedges, Dunlop 450 10* Driver and a Custom RAM FX 3 wood 15*. My putter is a CR415 from Master Grip. The Master Grip Clubs are top grade ! :).

Re: RE: What do you play?

I am using Pine Meadow Cobra knock offs. I like them but I'm interested in the Adams a2 OS irons. These irons use hybrids for the longer irons. Anyone out there have any experience with the Adams irons? Or any comments on them?

    I play to a 20 handicap.

Re: RE: What do you play?

I have hit the Adams Idea irons and actually used one of the Idea Hybrids for some time before going to a few different clubs. The irons are great for any level and especially if you are looking for a set to improve ball striking. Just be sure to have them fitted for you, it will make a world of difference.

Another very cool set that a friend of mine plays with is the Callaway Big Bertha Fusion Irons. He was around a 20hcp, but after some lessons and using these he has really improved in hitting more greens in regulation. Now he is playing much better and even broke 90 this past summer.

I suggest hitting a few different sets then purchase a slightly used set and use the extra money to have them fitted.

Re: RE: What do you play?

Thanks for the advice. I'm leaving for Mesa, AZ tomorrow. They have a great driving range and golf center out there where I can try out different clubs.
