American Idol - Is it like the Golf Show Big Break?

OK, I am watching American Idol for the 7 season in a row (shut up, I don’t want to hear it. There is nothing else on TV and I have this huge 70 in Sharp and I want to use the surround sound and HD , so bite me) and they say this is the best talent ever.

Maybe, maybe not. But it got me thinking about the golf show the Big Break. (Which totally sucks)

Most of the talent this year on American Idol is so good because they had careers at a younger age and just didn’t make it. Same thing with the Big Fake. Most of those golfers have had their chance and sucked it up. Then since they have some skins and know people in the business they get a second or third chance on TV to make a name for themselves to hit pay dirt. Finally from the Big Break one player made it to the show. The goofy-est SOB ever to be on the show. Yeah, the guy who wears two gloves. That sick ass swing made the tour, but anywho, good for him and I am glad he made it. Still he had many chances before the big break and I think he actually got in the sack with Brianna Vega. (that ***)

Is it ok to go on reality shows that are trying to find that hidden obscure talent if they have had success or had a million dollar contract before? Carly Smithson had a label push 2 million to her record debut only for it to flop. So now she is back in the spotlight again. Way unfair in my eyes, give someone else a shot that has not had that opportunity. And when Simon said she sounded better in prior years she almost had a heart attack because she just knew in her mind she was a shoe in for the final.

These over confident high brows should take a back seat since they have already had a shot; whether it is golf or American Idol! I hope the producers will take this criticism to heart. Finding talent and making money on a sure thing is not reality in this arena.
