    Driver

    Scott,

I apologize, I didn't get the side view today, my Camera's battery ran out.

Here is the front view. I'm seeing some of the same weight transfer issues we uncovered with my irons.

What are your thoughts on set-up? Mostly, Hand position and how I've got my upper body positioned? I'm trying to not lean too much left at address.

One thing I will come clean with: During my down swing, after my left hip turns to get things in motion, I also mentally think about driving my right knee towards the ball. I have found I can really "Crank" it by doing this.

    Thanks again for the help!

    -Erik

    Re: Driver

    Erik,

I too am seeing some of the same weight shift issues.  With that said, they are quite a bit lessened than before!

The set up with the Driver needs to be slightly different.  Since the club is played forward in the stance (due to center of clubface forward of the shaft and the need to hit the Driver with a slight upswing) the hands do not need to move forward.  When you move the hands forward the upper body lilts too much to the left and the shoulders tend to open causing pulls, pull hooks and pull fades and slices. Which is showing up most often?

Therefore the setup for the driver should be:

    1. Hands in the middle of your body, under your sternum, belly button line.
    2. Ball and club are pretty good in the video, could maybe move forward about 1/2 a ball so the ball is under your left arm pit.
    3. Spine angle will then tilt slightly toward your right side creating a slightly upward path into the ball at impact.

Once this is done, it will be easier to feel your rotation in your upper body line up more over your right hip and knee.  Currently, as you see, there is still a little too much weight left on the left side.  Then from there, focus on keeping your feet more on the ground in your downswing and follow through and the path of your club will attack more from the inside/back of the ball creating more penetrating and straighter ball flight.

Keep up your good work.  IT IS IMPROVING!

    Scott

P.S.  I liked your "movie" about your practice facility.  It is fun to see the things you are doing to achieve your dream.
