I have never been able to view the videos from this site, either from the blog or from the home page. Quicktime starts to open and then I get an error message that the URL is not valid and it shuts down. I am using a Mac and I have tried it with both Safari and Firefox.

Yes, Macs out of the box won't handle Windows Media files.  Please have a look at this plug-in.  It should fix the problem.
