    Re: HANK HANEY????

    That’s a good question Sassy.

Living in Texas I have been able to see Hank in action at tour events and at his training facilities.

I have always found him to be very professional and courteous to students like you and me, but he does expect the best out of each player he teaches from beginner to professional so he can be a bit hard on you, which can give the impression that he is a mean guy.

You have to understand, he has been given the dubious honor and teaching the best player to ever live and with that comes money, fame and an attitude no matter who you are. How awesome would you think you are if you were helping the best player in the world to get better and win more? Nuff said there!

Hank by no means is a Butch Harmon who has to buy his way in to land big name students and run his mouth to keep his name in the paper. Hank didn’t have a family name ride on like Butch, nor did Leadbetter (who is the best start to finish teacher ever). Sure Mark O’Meara put Hank in the spotlight, but if one of my buddies was a great player and he wanted me to teach him, I would not turn that down, nor the cover of Golf Digest after he won his first major. As we know, since he says it all the time, Butch thinks he made Tiger and everyone else is just feeding Tigers ego. Tiger was great before butch and Hank sure, but look at the changes in his swing before and after Hank. Haney did a nice job.

Sure all these instructors re-invent the wheel, but it’s how you re-invent that wheel is what makes you a good instructor. There is only so many way to swing the club

All in all, decent guy with a big ego, but is good at what he does and if you catch him at the right time (just like anyone) he can be a very down to earth guy.
